Hi, I’m Jo!

My creative journey started back in the early ’90s when I studied Art and Design at college and earned my BTEC National Diploma. Art has always been a big part of my life, but things really took off in a new direction when I discovered Powertex.

I moved to Scotland in 2019 to be with my now-husband, and the peaceful countryside here has been just what I needed — calm, inspiring, and full of beauty.

In 2023, I joined a few Powertex workshops with another tutor and I was instantly hooked. I loved it so much that I began my tutor training at the start of 2024 and completed Levels 1 and 2. Later that year, I was able to finish Levels 3 and 4 too — a bittersweet moment, made possible thanks to a kind gift from my late father, who I sadly lost in October.

I travelled to the Head Office in Redditch to complete the final stages of my training, and it was such a special experience to be surrounded by other creatives and to learn from our amazing Creative Director.

I believe in always growing and learning, so I continue to take part in workshops and training when I can. It helps me bring even more inspiration and knowledge to the sessions I run.

This year, my husband and I have been working on something really exciting — building my very own dedicated studio!
